Growing up, we exclusively used Pakistani products. But when we moved to the U.S., we suddenly faced endless options, mostly tailored for other skin types. We tried everything, but almost nothing suited our skin and hair types. Due to a lack of diversity, we stopped oiling our hair, makeup never sat quite right, and skincare began to feel burdensome—not to mention expensive.

Every chance we had to visit Karachi, we'd stock up on hair oils, kajals, essential oils, desi jewelry… the list goes on. Inevitably, though, these products would only last a couple of months.

Nothing we tried in the U.S. felt satisfying or provided the comfort of home. We needed products that genuinely worked for our skin and hair, accessories that felt authentically ours on a daily basis; and we soon realized we weren't alone.

Alas, that’s where POTLI begins.
